Our membership includes public, private, and tribal school districts, as well as cooperating and collaborating members across the Northeast region. Through partnership with these members and numerous regional, state, and national entities, we support students and educators. Professional Learning The NESC offers professional learning to member schools in collaboration with the Lake Region Teacher Center, fellow North Dakota Regional Education Associations, and numerous state and national education partners. We are here to support you through state, regional, and local/customized structures and opportunities. Learn More Events Driving Math Success Through Intentional Unit Planning May-June 2024 Participants will be introduced to high-yield strategies and essential design questions critical for cultivating a thriving math classroom. Additionally, time will be spent on strategic unit planning, proficiency calendars, and aligned assessments. Learn more & Register The Master Teacher Professional Learning Modules (Paraeducator/Tutor Support) Enroll anytime/virtual North Dakota paraeducators and tutors have access to The Master Teacher’s 150+ online professional learning modules FREE through a grant from the ND DPI to the NESC and SEEC. Modules address Para Basics, Reading, Writing, Math, Behavior, Trauma, SpEd, and more! They have provided professional development that has changed the direction of our district and helped us to refocus our school improvement goals (Marzano High Reliability Schools training). They have been available for support on every level for our administration and staff, and provided some of the best training I’ve ever attended in my 25 years of teaching (Steve Dunn Writing Workshop). Without their expertise and commitment to our schools, we would not have the resources and strategies available for effective instructional practices. I can’t imagine not having the NESC as our main professional development support system. They are the solid foundation of collaboration and excellence that small rural districts in North Dakota need. These benefits range from technology assistance, data retrieval, professional development analyzing data, and support. In the time I have been at DP, we have transitioned to a one-to-one school, implemented data teams at both campuses, implemented a data intervention time with our students, and begun wrestling with best practices in regards to classroom teaching and data usage. All of these improvements are due directly to the assistance and guidance allowed to us by the NESC’s Succeed 2020 Grant.
